A: The company began selling down-hole drilling mud additives in 1995 to major oilfield service companies. Today, we deliver reliable, consistent products and services to a growing customer base throughout shale fields in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Q: Our drilling and completion requirements are specific to each well. How does Precision Additives formulate the right fluid?
A: We develop and manufacture proprietary and custom completion slurries and drilling lubricants to fit the unique requirements of each customer. We also blend customer formulas and toll blend. By maintaining tight control of quality in regard to raw materials and final products we have established a history of 100% on-time, on-spec delivery of products. Our experienced technical and commercial teams adapt to customer challenges to formulate the right chemical, mechanical, operational, and commercial solutions.
Q: With high demand in the shale fields, back orders are an issue. How quickly can Precision Fluids deliver to my drilling site?
A: Privately owned, without the pricing pressures of private equity, Precision Additives is nimble, with great flexibility to respond quickly to the needs of its customers. We maintain safety stock for customers based on contractual arrangements and purchasing patterns. Precision Additives has invested in equipment over the past two years, allowing for just-in-time delivery to support fast moving frac teams. Our technical and commercial teams engage quickly to get the right drilling and/or completion fluids, along with our proprietary frac tank, to your site within 24 hours.
Q: What quality control does Precision Additives have in place?
A: Precision Additives has earned the highest quality control classification from multiple Tier 1 oilfield service companies. Quality Control is a core commitment for the company and we’re proud of our 100% finished product quality control assurance and history. Precision Additives quality tests every raw material lot number and every final product. We have invested in a new state-of-the-art laboratory to facilitate development of proprietary formulas, precise toll blends, and on-going innovation of new products. Our technicians and engineers work on quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC) and product development in our Houston, TX headquarters lab.
Q: What logistics do you have in place to get product, equipment, and staff to my drilling site quickly and for the duration of our drilling and completion operations?
A: Precision Additives' field services unit provides accurate inventory controls for every customer. With its trained logistics personnel and on-site proprietary frac tanks and field technical service support, Precision Additives has created a comprehensive fluids management solution. Our regional mobile blending units (with full regional QC lab) are ready to deploy when and where the product is needed.
Q: Are any of your drilling or completion products biodegradable?
A: All products provided by Precision Additives are biodegradable and approved by the EPA. All products provided by Precision Additives are biodegradable and approved by the EPA. Our products are approved by accredited laboratories, are non-toxic, and BTEX-free.
